Do Daily Affirmations Work?

I started using daily affirmations when I noticed how negative my thoughts have become. I needed to neutralize and restructure my negative thinking, and through affirmations, I felt empowered. Other people may use them to boost their self-confidence, gain motivation, welcome positivity into their lives, or even help them sleep.

In case you're wondering whether the medicine has actually proved the efficacy behind daily affirmations, the short answer is yes. The key is to practice them daily (obviously). And in my opinion, have some faith. Fake it till you make it. Whatever. Just believe it is true and it will work.

To go with that, take a look at the term neuroplasticity. According to google, neuroplasticity is “the ability of neural networks in the brain to change through growth and reorganization”. Meaning you can train your brain to believe you are actually experiencing certain situations (like acing that interview or overcoming your fear of feet). Not only that, but these repetitive affirmations will make you feel more relaxed, so you get an added benefit until you accomplish your affirmation.

Here are a few of my affirmations to help get you started:

  • I believe in myself and will succeed in all aspects of life.

  • Life gets better, and it is already good.

  • I am not affected by those around me.

  • Today I choose happiness.

  • I am proud of myself for trying.

Even if you're still not convinced, give it a try. After all, there must be a reason behind why a myriad of people swear by affirmations.

Do you practice daily affirmations? Are you a believer? Let me know what you think.
